Technology is the main factor that is changing the world as we know it today, the conference aim is to advance and support the practice of MOT for the betterment of our organizations, societies, and future. The conference will bring the most pressing technology related issue for an in-depth analysis, discussion and study to facilitate the transformation of knowledge and exchange of expertise. In this year’s 30th International Conference, authors are recommended to address MOT issues related to the World of the Future including Competitiveness, Innovation and Foreseen Changes.
I am indeed honored and privileged to, once again, chair the International Conference on Management of Technology once again in its 30th cycle. the conference this year is, one more time, hosted by Nile University in Cairo Egypt in cooperation with the Graduate School of Technology Management, University of Pretoria, South Africa. The Board of Directors of the International Association of Management of Technology (IAMOT) has decided to hold this year’s conference in a virtual mode due to the continuing situation the world is facing of Covid-19 Pandemic. We had to do that last year and we succeeded in doing it successfully and we look forward to repeating this success this year. I would like to welcome all the presenters and participants in this year’s conference and look forward to many Informative sessions and fruitful discussions. I also look to the future and wish that next year we can meet again in person to renew our social interactions and revive our friendships. I want to thank our program Chairs, our international advisory board members, the local organizing committee members, our staff that worked delightedly to prepare for this conference and all the people that helped us in making our 30th international meeting a reality.
Tarek KhalilGreetings and I hope this message shall find you well and safe. It is with my great honor and privilege that I welcome you all to the 30th annual conference of the International Association for Management of Technology (IAMOT). Just like last year, we had high hope that we will be able to hold both in-person and virtual conference this year. But stubborn pandemic, specifically the recent spread of Delta virus, lack of progress in vaccinating world population, and rigid travel requirements in many countries have forced us to forego our desire to hold in-person conference and settle for a virtual only conference. But tenacity and resiliency of our research and academic communities and particularly, students are remarkable. In order to celebrate their achievements in the face of unsurmountable challenges, IAMOT is pleased to announce this year’s conference that shall be hosted by the Nile University, Cairo, Egypt in collaboration with University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa from September 19 – 23, 2021. The theme of this year’s conference is “Management of Technology (MOT) for the World of the Future”. This is a timely theme as the MOT community really need to discuss about the future, set a vision, and charter a roadmap that shall make our future world better, healthier, sustainable, and equitable. The heart of any conference is its authors and researchers, who have worked hard and conducted excellent research in many fields of MOT that can influence our future. On behalf of IAMOT, I want to express my deepest sense of gratitude to 500 authors, representing 35 countries, who have submitted the 200 abstracts. I congratulate authors of 130 papers and 52 abstracts that have been accepted by the conference committee for publications. I am also thankful to Prof. Tarek Khalil, General Conference Chair, Conference Chair & Editor, Prof Leon Pretorius, and Co-Chair & Editor, Prof Marthinus Pretorius for their leadership and invaluable contribution in holding this conference and for its success. I also recognize the peer reviewers and members of organizing committee and advisory committee with great sense of appreciation. I hope to meet you all virtually during the online conference and hopefully in near future, in-person. Please stay safe and healthy and let us come together for a better IAMOT for a better future. So, long.
Kind regards,
